I would personally like to thank American Service Dog trainers, Jared, Robert and Luke, for training myself and my dog, Flor. Their patience, knowledge and expertise have given me the perfect brace and balance dog,
As well as a companion. They not only train the dog and handler but the family as well. We are very fortunate to have their services available in Las Cruces, New Mexico. I highly recommend if you want the best service dog to contact them.
Thank you, we could never have done it without you.
Joe, Suki and Flor!
By chance, I picked up an American Service Dogs card at the groomers and decided to check into their training.
Duke and I attended classes and he is now certified as a therapy dog. We worked with Jared, Robert and Erica and they trained me to train Duke. I so much appreciated their guidance and helpfulness. Duke and I are now working with children and with residents at an assisted care facility. It is also so rewarding to have people stop us on our daily walk to tell me that he is such a well behaved dog, which he is and that is due to the classes we took with American Service Dogs.
Here is Duke relaxing after working his first day with five year olds at Jardín de los Niños!
To Whom It May Concern:
On November 2, 2014, I met Service Dog Trainer, Robert Garcia who was representing American Service Dogs at the Las Cruces Renaissance Faire. He had brought several dogs to the event to help him demonstrate some of their skills. Among them was Jasmine, a three-year-old chocolate Labrador, who is now my PTSD Service Dog.
That encounter with Robert was followed by my first visit to American Service Dogs, 725 S. Solano on November 6, 2014, where I met General Manager / Lead Trainer, Jared Latham. This began five months of once or twice weekly one-hour training sessions, working directly with Robert and/or Jared and interacting with other ASD staff, including Utility Trainer, Erica Daniels and one of the business owners, Bill Gary. I completed my training with Jasmine on March 26, 2015.
Throughout my training experience, it was clear that everyone at ASD is devoted to the wellbeing of the animals, to maintaining a high standard of professional and appropriate training for each dog, to achieving the best possible match between each client and a service dog, and to assuring a positive long-term outcome in the quality of life for both the dogs and their human handlers.
ASD draws upon Jared Latham’s extensive military experience both as a trained handler and as a combat veteran, and Robert Garcia’s considerable expertise in every aspect of proper handling and care of these dogs. Their astute analysis of both canine and human needs and capabilities is remarkable. And their patience in working with both dogs and people is impressive.
Anyone in need of a service dog or simply seeking a better relationship with a more disciplined and happier pet will find a wealth of knowledge and support at American Service Dogs.
